Designing the Manufacturing Route

01

Understand the Component

This combines explicit technical requirements with sound engineering judgement for the remaining aspects.

In practice, this may mean positioning a forging for a rotating component centrally within the furnace’s radiant heating zone, even when not explicitly required

02

Engineer the Process

Starting from the required technologies, an initial manufacturing route is developed based on the intended contribution of each. Their integration and interaction are then assessed to identify criticalities and define the validation points required to ensure process reliability.

03

Deliver an Installation-Ready Component

Once the process starts, the result of each validation point confirms the correct completion of the corresponding manufacturing stage.

The manufacturing process can be documented and shared with the customer through an MPP, with validation points jointly agreed.

Because these controls are defined together, their results validate the finished component for both De Vecchi and the customer, eliminating the need for incoming material acceptance testing at the customer’s facility.
